Which would you rather have in a one on one duel? I would lean more towards a Katana.IP: 69.133.17.40 |

Depends on the broadsword, but probably the katana - assuming I knew how to use it, which I don't! Given more choice though, I would opt for a rapier-like blade to which katanas seem vulnerable: offering no protection to the hands. 1911A1 is a dishonourable choice. Shameful! IP: 62.30.238.197 |

Just katana vs broadsword? KatanaKatana vs broadsword + buckler? Broadsword I would prefer a sheering sword or epee de combat to either. Stormbind, trhere is nothing shameful about anything designed by John Moses Browning. ------------------ Luke 22:36 He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. IP: 68.94.3.226 |

Depending on the situation, I'd go with a sword and shield if we had no armor. If armor is allowed (even maille), I'd go with my trusty longsword. Only reason I say this is because I'm more comfortable with my range coverage, and defense with a sword and shield. That said, practicing with a longsword is steadily catching up. I prefer the armor cause I still get a little tied up and am succeptable to draw cuts and other "weaker" blows. Kind of a fun topic to ponder... IP: 24.51.122.45 |

Hmm, if we're allowed to choose an arsenal then I'd have to go with an F-14 Tomcat, and an english longbow, just in case I run out of bullets/missiles.IP: 24.51.68.23 |

If I could choose any arsenal, I would just use the two Olson twins (one in each hand)IP: 69.133.17.40 |

They would surely turn against you, for they are now insisting that they NOT be called "the Olsen twins". ( Apparently it's insulting all of a sudden. ) IP: 159.87.49.218 |

Ah yes, the olson twins, they bring out the dirty old man in all of us. Back on topic, yea, katana or broadsword, Id pick a katana cos if swung at equel speed at each other the katana would cut the broadsword in two due to its harder outer edge and superior slicing ability.Ciaran IP: 159.134.223.167 |

Geesh Ciaran, now your starting to sound like 'you know who', LOLSince broadsword is such a large group term, I would ask for a little more refinement there. However, I would think that the cross would have to way in this battle. IP: 66.82.9.55 |

i agree with TAK. The Broad Sword and the Katana Bolth have a base dammage of 1D6 (slashing), so.. id choose the Broad sword as it can be boosted up to 1D8 provided the wielder used two hands, and is a weaons master. But id choose the katana if it had at least a 1D4 elemental enhancement. IP: 158.158.240.231 |
